Role Overview
We are seeking a Security Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain SOAR workflows and integrations using Shuffle.io. This role supports Gradient Cyber’s SOC-as-a-Service platform by enabling efficient, scalable security operations.
This is a back-office role with no direct customer interaction. The engineer will work closely with internal deployment engineers and platform teams to integrate customer environments into automated security workflows. Standard business hours, flexibility based on role and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement SOAR playbooks
- Build and maintain integrations with security tools, cloud platforms, and APIs
- Collaborate with internal deployment engineers to support customer environments
- Improve automation coverage, reliability, and efficiency across SOC workflows
- Maintain documentation for automations, workflows, and integrations
- Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize response logic
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations at scale
Required Qualifications
- Experience in security automation, SOAR, or security engineering roles
- Hands-on experience SOAR platforms
- Strong understanding of security operations and incident response workflows
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver reliable solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating SIEM, EDR, cloud security, or ticketing systems
- Scripting or automation experience (Python, APIs, webhooks)
- Experience supporting SOC or MSSP environments
